After successfully logging in, you need to create a bucket. Then you have to collect an Access Key, Secret Key, and Endpoint.

Let’s start!

Create an object storage bucket

We’ll create an object storage bucket. Here, we’ll go through 6 easy steps.

  1. In the StackPath Control Portal, select your login in the upper-right corner.
  2. In the drop-down option, select My Stacks
  3. Locate and pick your stack. The portal will refresh.
  4. In the left-hand navigation menu, select Object Storage.
  5. Select Create Bucket.
  6. Enter a descriptive name for your bucket, choose a region, and click Continue.

Access and manage your bucket

After creating the bucket you must create credentials. Below is the process.

  1. In the StackPath Control Portal’s left-hand navigation, select Object Storage.
  2. To create your client access key and secret, click Generate Credentials under the bucket list.
  3. Keep the Access and Secret keys in a secure location.
  4. Enter your Access Key and Secret Key. For the region, enter us-east-1. The last setting you can leave blank.
  5.  To access your bucket, type the added endpoint URL into the command line.
  6. To get your endpoint URL, go to the StackPath Control Portal and select Object Storage.
  7. Locate and choose your preferred bucket. Copy the endpoint’s URL. Example: endpoint-url=https://s3.us-east-1.stackpathstorage.com

Note: Keep the Access and Secret keys in a safe location. A secret key cannot be recovered. If you lose your secret key, you must generate a new one to replace the previous one. The endpoint URL and bucket URL will be different depending on the area.
