Showing and hiding texts is a useful feature in WordPress. It allows you to control the visibility of content on your website. If you have a long post or article that may attract intermediate visitors at first sight, you can cover them in a short space with this feature.
You can do this seamlessly using the Ultimate Blocks plugin. It includes some custom blocks that initially let you display selective content, concealing the rest. Readers can click the expand option to explore the hidden parts.
In this article, we’ll show you the process of how to show and hide text in WordPress using the Ultimate Blocks plugin.
How to Show and Hide Text in WordPress
Several steps are involved in the process. But it won’t take much time to complete them. Follow the steps explained below.
Step 01: Install and Activate the Ultimate Blocks Plugin
Log in to your WordPress dashboard. Navigate to Plugins > Add New. Type Ultimate Blocks in the search box. Install and Activate the plugin once it appears below.

Step 02: Insert the Expand Block to Your Post or Page
Open your desired post or page where you want to hide text. Press the plus (+) icon. Type Expand in the search box. Hit the Expand custom block from below.

Step 03: Add Shown and Hidden Text
You can add shown content by clicking the plus (+) icon on the first row. And by clicking the plus (+) icon on the second row, you can add hidden content. You can add text, images, videos, GIFs, or anything. You just have to select the right block for that.

For example, hit the plus (+) icon on the first row. Select the suitable block from the Gutenberg Editor. We are selecting the Paragraph block for this example.

You can see we already have added texts on the first row (show text).
Similarly, select another suitable block for the second row (hidden content). We’ve selected the image block and added images.
Save or publish the post once you are done.

Step 04: Preview the Content
Go to the preview mode of the page. Click the Show More option to see the hidden content you assigned. By clicking the Show Less option, you can hide them again.

Note: You can add multiple blocks on each row to assign shown and hidden content. Explore the block just for a few minutes, you will know everything.
How to Show and Hide Text in WordPress Using the Content Toggle Block
The Content Toggle is another custom block of the plugin. It allows you to create a collapsible FAQ-like section, meaning some parts of the content will be displayed, and the rest will be hidden. Let’s break down how to do it.
Step 01: Add the Content Toggle Block to Your Post or Page
Open a new post or page. Find and add the Content Toggle block to the post or page following the same way we explained above.

Step 02: Add Content to the Content Toggle Block
Add a title to the first row. You can only add text content to the title section. But to the second raw, you can add any type of content by selecting the suitable block from the Gutenberg Block editor.

In the image below, you can see we have added text and image content to the second row. Press the plus (+) icon to create new sections on the block.

Step 03: Customize Content on the Content Toggle Block
The Content Toggle block lets you set the heading tag, toggle state, mobile-friendliness, FAQ schema, and more options. You’ll get these customization options on the right sidebar. Configure the block by selecting suitable options from the customization section.

Go to the preview mode of the post or page. Explore if the Content Toggle block works perfectly or not. Hope it will work seamlessly.
