How to Offload WordPress Media Files to OVHcloud Object Storage

Offloading WordPress media files to OVHcloud object storage is an easy task. To do so, you need to select an Offload media plugin, create an account of OVHcloud object storage, etc. You can follow the given process to offload your WordPress media files.

Let’s follow the process.  

Step 1: Create an OVH S3 Storage Account

Sign up for an account at OVHcloud.

Once logged in, you need to navigate to the Storage section and create a new Object Storage container.

Step 2: Create Bucket

To create an Object Storage bucket, first open your Public Cloud project from the OVHcloud Control Panel. Click on Object Storage in the navigation bar on the left. Then on the My containers tab.

Then hit on the Create Object Container button.  Afterward, select your storage class.

In this phase, you have to link a user to the bucket.

You can also link an existing S3 user.

The user credentials can be viewed by clicking on View credentials.

If you want you can also create a new S3 user.

Now the user credentials will be shown.

Insert a name for your bucket.

Now choose if you want to encrypt your data using SSE-S3  or not.

Step 3: Install and Configure a Plugin

Step 4: Paste Credentials

Head back to the WordPress dashboard and find the Next3 setup section. Here, select S3 Object Storage from the list of providers. This selection will enable you to adjust the storage settings for offloading your media files to OVHcloud. Make sure to configure these settings to suit your needs.

Enter your Access Key ID into the specified field. This key is essential for linking your WordPress site to the S3 Object Storage. Without it, the connection cannot be established.

Enter the Secret Access Key into the provided field. This key, together with your Access Key ID, will authenticate  your WordPress site to the S3 Object Storage.

Insert your collected endpoints into the required field. Once all required credentials are entered, click the “Next” button to continue. This will move you to the next stage of the setup process.

After integrating OVHcloud Object Storage with WordPress, it’s essential to set up the necessary features in the Storage Settings. Go to the WordPress Admin Dashboard and select the Next3 Offload option. From there, access the basic storage settings and adjust them to meet your requirements.

To complete the setup, access the Offload Settings. Head to the Offload Settings section within the Next3 Offload plugin. Here, you can define how your media files are managed and transferred to your storage provider. Make sure to review and save your settings to ensure proper functionality.
